Tuli

RTF MFA Student Film, Dir. Lisa Gross, 2005

Synopsis:
Paul Grosz not only survived the entire Holocaust in Vienna, Austria, but is also one of the few Jews to have remained there all his life. Having witnessed the worst in his fellow Austrians during the Nazi years, Paul was saddened to find anti-Semitism still thriving long after the war, with a collective amnesia of the Holocaust that lasted for decades. “Tuli” shows the filmmaker’s quest to understand what led her cousin Paul, as President of the Jewish Community of Vienna in the 1980’s, to speak out against Austria’s culture of anti-Semitism and repression of its Nazi past, helping begin a new era of tolerance.
