Synopsis:
American Cowboy chronicles world rodeo champion Gene Mikulenka’s journey to the ’96 International Gay Rodeo Finals. Along the way, he’ll lose his prized horse, ask his boyfriend to marry him, harass and embrace the dogged film crew and finally come out to his friends and family. TRT = 52 min.

Director bio:
Kyle Henry’s feature narrative directing debut Room premiered at both the Sundance and Cannes film festivals in 2005, and was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards. Room is now available on home video and the Sundance Channel. His feature docs include University Inc. and American Cowboy, the latter being a Student Academy Award winner. He is also the editor of the Sundance award-winning feature Manito and seven doc features including: Troop 1500, Letters From the Other Side, and Audience of One.
