
Donald W. Howard, Assistant Professor
Don Howard was born in Waco, Texas, and graduated from Baylor University in 1979. He first came to Austin to study philosophy at the University of Texas, and later began directing and editing for television and film, receiving a Master of Arts degree from the UT Radio-TV-Film department in 1987. Since that time he has edited a wide variety of material in both realms, specializing in particular in documentary work. He began teaching editing courses at the university in 1998. In addition, Mr. Howard has written and directed several of his own films, including Letter From Waco and Nuclear Family for PBS, and the forthcoming feature film Police and Thieves. He has one son, Lincoln.
