Ruth Fertig, an MFA alumnus from the Department of Radio-Television-Film, won Gold in the Documentary category at the 37th Student Academy Awards. Fertig won her film “Yizkor (Rememberance),” which is about the filmmaker, years after her grandparents have died, discovering her grand-mother’s memoir revealing their experiences during the holocaust. Jeanne Stern, also an MFA alumnus from RTF, completed the animation on Fertig’s film.
