Radio-TV-Film and Documentary Center faculty member Paul Stekler highly recommends the documentary Please Vote for Me which screens in Austin as part of the Austin Film Society Documentary Tour. Additional sponsors include the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Center for Politics and Governance.
Paul says: This week’s AFS Doc Tour documentary, “Please Vote for Me” is a wonderful, hilarious look at “democracy” at the lowest of grassroots levels in China today–the election for an elementary school class monitor. In the midst of our own high concept, low blow presidential election, this film is a lot of fun and worth catching.
Directed by Weijun Chen.
